Precinct One Closure Extended to Sept. 5

Harris County Precinct One offices, centers, parks and other facilities will be closed until Sept. 5 due to historic flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.

However, Precinct One employees continue to work hard rescuing flood-stranded residents, assisting evacuees in shelters and removing storm debris from public rights of way.

Precinct One Commissioner Rodney Ellis, working in conjunction with the Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, urges residents to remain in their homes if they are not flooded.  Also, avoid driving, especially through high water. Remember: turn around, don’t drown.

"I am grateful beyond measure to Precinct One personnel who have been working tirelessly to help our residents during this unprecedented natural disaster,” Commissioner Ellis said. “We will continue to do everything we can to assist in recovery and relief efforts. Together, we will get through this historic flood.”
