Through a partnership between Precinct One and the Qatar Harvey Fund, the soccer complex will include space for up to five regulation-size youth soccer fields at Blue Ridge Park in southwest Houston. The fields, which include lighting and other features, will add recreational opportunities while preserving the area for flood mitigation.
Additional improvements include restrooms; water fountains, benches, picnic tables, pavilions, landscaping and 70 permeable, environmentally conscious parking spaces.
The soccer complex will add additional recreational opportunities at Blue Ridge Park in an area that has a greater need for greenspace.
Additionally, the complex will help meet the growing demand for youth and adult soccer fields in Harris County.
The project also includes an environmentally conscious design that limit pavement and reduces the risk of flooding.
