This neighborhood investment will provide 8 miles of new high-comfort bikeway along Cavalcade and Homestead Streets.

COMMUNITY MEETING:

The City of Houston and Harris County will hold a virtual meeting on Wednesday, October 6 from 6 pm to 7 pm to discuss the Cavalcade-Homestead Healthy Connection Corridor.

This project will improve street safety and connect people to work, schools, parks and other destinations in Kashmere Gardens and Trinity Gardens.

Safe, accessible trails and bikeways are an important part of healthy, growing neighborhoods and connect residents to healthy recreational opportunities. That's why Precinct One is investing in 8 miles of high-comfort bikeway along Cavalcade and Homestead Streets.

PROJECT BENEFITS:

Once completed, these improvements will:

  • Make walking and biking safer
  • Expand access to healthy recreational opportunities
  • Connect Kashmere Gardens, Trinity Gardens and Houston Gardens residents to schools and businesses

PROJECT UPDATES:

The bikeway is in the design phase and is scheduled to break ground in early 2022.
