PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Precinct One is improving safety for people walking and driving along sections of Bammel Road between Imperial Valley Drive and Inverness Forest Road. Improvements include constructing 6-to-8 foot wide sidewalks along both sides of Imperial Valley Drive from Bammel Road to FM1960 and along the south side of Bammel Road from Imperial Valley Drive to Queensbury Hills Drive. Other street safety improvements include upgrading ramps and driveways to meet ADA requirements and adding a left-turn lane at Bammel Road, Carlsway Road, Queenburry Hills Drive, and Inverness Forest. Bammel Road will be resurfaced with new asphalt and re-striped.

The current roadside ditches will be replaced with a curb and gutter system to improve drainage.

PROJECT BENEFITS:

Everyone should feel safe when walking, biking, or driving on streets in their neighborhood.  That’s why Precinct One is making improvements to streets, intersections, and sidewalks along Bammel Road between Imperial Valley Road and Inverness Forest Road.  These upgrades will improve access to the Spring Park and Ride and several Spring Independent School District schools.

PROJECT UPDATES:

The bikeway will break ground in May 2022. Construction will last approximately 3 months.
