Finnigan Park is named after Annette Finnigan, who donated the land for the park in order to give Black residents of Houston a new greenspace. The Finnigan Park Project, a partnership between Harris County Precinct One, the City of Houston, and HISD, was established to create educational, social, and recreational opportunities for residents. This park has baseball fields, tennis and basketball courts, a pool, and more! Finnigan Park is also home to the Youth Education Town (YET), which the NFL donated funds toward construction after the 2004 Super Bowl in Houston.

  • Fireworks are prohibited; except by permit.
  • Metal detectors are prohibited;  unless contracted with Harris County.
  • Glass bottles or containers are prohibited.
  • Harming wildlife is prohibited.
  • Hunting is prohibited; except by permit.
  • Littering or dumping is prohibited.
  • Motorized vehicles are prohibited on grass areas, trails, and sidewalks.
  • Park in designated lots. Vehicles parked overnight are subject to towing.
  • Pet waste must be picked up and placed in trash bins.
  • Pets must be on a leash at all times except in designated dog parks.
