Responding to a request from residents in the Sheldon area, Precinct One will construct a 110-foot, two-lane bridge over a Flood Control channel connecting two sides of Van Hut Lane between Montclair Bend Lane and Stonefield Manor. The bridge also includes 6-foot wide sidewalks on each side, connecting to neighborhood sidewalks on both sides of the channel.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Everyone should feel safe walking around their neighborhood. To improve the safety of residents walking through the Sheldon area, Harris County Precinct One is adding a pedestrian bridge that will connect two sides of Van Hut Lane.
The addition of a bridge will:
- Improve access and traffic flow in the neighborhood
- Improve safety and connectivity for people walking and biking
- Improve access to parks and other destinations
