Northeast Trails Exploration

Trails

NEIGHBOORHOOD:

Northeast and East Harris County

STUDY UPDATES:

Every neighborhood should have access to quality trails that open up recreational opportunities and bring communities together. Harris County Precinct One is leading a study to determine the feasibility of creating a hike-and-bike trail system along Carpenters Bayou, connecting neighborhoods to regional parks, recreational activities and other destinations.

Your input is important! The project team will lead public meetings, and conduct a thorough regional, area, and site analysis. Feedback from the community will help identify key issues, opportunities, and challenges for Carpenters Bayou and the surrounding landscape for future trail connectors.

This study is an important first step. Although funding for design and construction has not been committed, this study will help inform future designs and funding opportunities.

TAKE THE SURVEY and we'll incorporate your feedback into the study.

UPCOMING COMMUNITY MEETING:

Our next virtual community meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 28 at 6pm. Register here or just join us on the 28th!

PRIOR COMMUNITY MEETINGS:

Your feedback on this study is important. On Tuesday, August 3 at 6pm, the community was invited to join a virtual community meeting to give your input on a study to possibly construct a hike-and-bike trail system along Carpenters Bayou that will connect the Northeast Precinct One region.  Your input helps us identify key issues, opportunities, and challenges for Carpenters Bayou and the surrounding landscape for future trail connectors.

Although the funding for the project design and construction has not been committed, your input and the upcoming study will ensure that any potential future improvements meet the needs of you and your neighbors.

A recording of the meeting can be watched below. The presentation slides can be viewed here and the associated maps here
